Tesla Motors India and Energy Private Limited incorporated on January 8 registered office in Lavelle Road in Bengaluru.
The American electric carmaker has registered its Indian subsidiary under the name ‘Tesla India Motors and Energy Private Ltd.’, and the company is directly in touch with the Karnataka government for land in Bengaluru.
According to the document filed with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Vaibhav Taneja, Venkatrangam Sreeram, and David Jon Feinstein have been named as directors. The company has been registered as a private unlisted company with an authorised capital of ₹ 15,00,000 and a paid-up capital of ₹ 100,000.
Tesla Motors India and Energy Private Limited was incorporated on January 8 with its registered office in Lavelle Road, a southern part of Bengaluru, reported Reuters.
Last month, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari had said Tesla is set to start its operations in the country in 2021 and would also look at setting up a manufacturing unit based on demand.
American electric car maker Tesla has registered its Indian arm amid indications that the company is set to enter the country’s automobile market.
Tata Motors are not partnered with Tesla
“Tata Motors has not taken any decision regarding a strategic partner for its PV business and categorically denies any and all rumours suggesting the same,” the company said in a regulatory statement.
In November last year, replying to a Twitter user who asked about the progress of the company’s India plans, Tesla CEO Elon Musk had said, “Yea..Next year for sure”.
